John and Isaac are in the trenches of Vietnam, stunned by the conditions and asking God where he has gone. 1971
Melanie, has a showdown with a school administrator when her biracial, 4 year old son is refused admittance --singing to him that he is her "gold". 1975
Bobby has become a doctor and his boyfriend of 16 years is dying of AIDS. 1983
NOTE: These songs are sung by the person who orchestrated them for our demo. The lyrics may not follow the script exactly, as the authors have revised them since these demo songs were recorded.
We now have twelve original recordings available for submission.
These videos are from a dress rehearsal at The Hartt School of the University of Hartford in 2024. The sophomore class performed the show as a class project, in a studio classroom, with minimal props and costumes, for four nights in front of an academic audience.
Opening 1951
"Made In America"​
The Gen Z students open the show complaining about the Boomers until one suggests they read his Grandpa's journal to enhance their sociology project. The 14 students will enact the seminal events the Boomers lived through. They age from 12 to 52 during the course of the show.

The ensemble of parents and Boomers gather for the funeral of Isaac, who was killed in Vietnam. His last letter is sung by him in spirit.

Opening number, as the parents of The Boomers tell us how great post-war America is in 1951. This song is a direct segue to"78 Million Strong".
The young Boomers respond to the adults, insisting that things are not so ducky in America in 1963. They're demanding big changes.
In 1970, John, gets his draft card and shares his fears with his friends and follow drafttees.
